Our Story

After working with pearls since 2022, our founder spent nearly three years reflecting on a simple question: what truly distinguishes one pearl brand from another in today’s Western market. As many pearl collections began to feel increasingly similar, the search for a clearer, more thoughtful design direction gradually took shape.

The concept that would later become Kikyo Pearl London gradually emerged from this period of observation and refinement — shaped by a deliberate dialogue between Eastern design philosophy and contemporary Western sensibility. Inspired by the Japanese bellflower, Kikyo, a symbol of quiet strength and clarity, our creations are defined not by excess, but by intention.

Our emblem, a five-petaled Kikyo blossom drawn from traditional kamon crests, holds a single pearl at its center — a reflection of form, balance, and the time it takes for beauty to develop naturally.

Every Kikyo creation begins with careful material selection. Our pearl specialists, with over a decade of hands-on experience, personally source and assess each pearl from trusted Japanese Akoya and Chinese freshwater suppliers.

Each pearl is evaluated against AAA–AAAA criteria, focusing on luster, surface quality, and tonal harmony rather than uniform perfection alone.

In a market where pearl jewelry often follows familiar formulas, we chose to rethink proportion, spacing, and restraint. Looking beyond prevailing Western aesthetics, our design approach draws from Eastern concepts such as “ma” — the considered use of space — translated through a modern, wearable lens.

Each piece is designed to move naturally between settings and moments, guided by clarity, balance, and quiet confidence rather than ornamentation.
